Philipp and Ines’ wedding was one that we had been looking forward to for a long time, after meeting them more than a year before for their engagement photoshoot in Essaouira. Ines is originally from Rabat and Philipp is from Germany. They met while studying in the US and have been together for over nine years!
They held two weddings in Morocco. A traditional Moroccan wedding in Rabat and a more intimate western style wedding in Essaouira. We were privileged to photograph and film both.
Their wedding in Rabat was held at the Hotel Rabat. Many of their friends and family members traveled in from abroad for the wedding and it was fun seeing so many different cultures celebrate together.
Ines had her hair and makeup done at Looking New Salon. Both Philipp and Ines got ready at the venue with their close friends. Ines wore three takchitas and a white wedding gown. Each takchita was handmade for her and it would be impossible to choose a favorite! Afrah Riad catered the food for the evening which included many popular Moroccan dishes and Le Trefle made their wedding cake.
Their Moroccan wedding celebration included many of the traditional Moroccan wedding traditions like presentations on the Amaria and Doura. There was lots of dancing throughout the evening and we loved the mix of music from the live band, Zouhair Adha, playing Moroccan classics to a mix of international favorites later on in the evening. Following their cake cutting, they had a choreographed first dance and then had a dance with their parents.
It was such a fun evening of celebrating and we loved seeing all of their international guests experiencing a traditional Moroccan wedding!
