Emile & Emilie’s Beach Wedding at Paradis Plage

Beautiful beach wedding photography at Paradis Plage in Agadir

Emile and Emilie couldn’t have picked a more beautiful day for their beach wedding. It was a cloudless May day with just enough of a breeze to keep the heat down. Because their wedding took place during the month of Ramadan (the Islamic holiday where Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset) the beach was uncommonly empty. They held the wedding at Paradis Plage, which is just outside of Agadir along the beautiful coastline.

Both from France, Emile and Emilie met through work in Paris a few years ago. They decided to have a destination wedding in Morocco and many friends and family were able to fly down to join them. It was an intimate group and there was so much excitement for these two.

We loved getting to know Emile and Emilie and found them to be such a fun and down to earth couple. Despite the fact that they said they didn’t like to be in front of a camera, they were complete naturals and we loved just capturing them interacting with each other.

On the day of their wedding, Emilie’s sister did her makeup and Pauline from Brooklyn Mama’s did her hair. Meanwhile, Emile got ready with his cousin.

Paradis Plage organized all of the details for the wedding and the day ran so smoothly. Enough cannot be said for the merits of having a great wedding planner to coordinate all of the details! It really takes the stress off of the bride and groom when everything is well organized and there’s a wedding planner to handle all of the details.

The ceremony took place right in front of the ocean and was just breathtaking. Two good friends officiated the wedding ceremony. Both parents shared during the ceremony along with Emile’s brothers. Emile and Emilie each wrote something to share as well. It was a very meaningful ceremony and there were definitely a few teary eyes.

Following the ceremony was a relaxed cocktail hour and we were able to capture some beautiful sunset photos with the bride and groom. Then everyone moved to the tent where the reception took place. The reception was an absolute blast with great speeches, fun dancing, a hilarious video created by some of Emile and Emilie’s friends, and exquisite food catered by Paradis Plage. Emilie’s father even serenaded the group with an Italian ballad – it was an incredibly special moment.

One of our favorite moments from the wedding was the cake cutting. You’ll have to scroll down through the pictures to see why, but it was definitely our favorite cake cutting to date and these two know how to have a good time at their wedding!

It was one of those weddings that you just leave with massive grins and full hearts. It was also a wedding that we could not narrow down our favorite photos – just too many moments that we love!

Mehdi & Kenza’s Wedding

Wedding photography at villa in Agadir

We were super honored when Mehdi and Kenza contacted us about photographing their wedding. We first met these two at Crossfit Agadir and were thrilled when we heard they were getting married.

These two are such a great match for each other and we love they made their wedding day so uniquely theirs. The wedding was held at Kenza’s family’s home in Agadir. Between the inside of the home and their beautiful garden there was enough space for all of the guests while still keeping an intimate feel. It created a vibe that felt very personal and made it easy for guests to mingle with one another.

Kenza got ready at her home with other female family members. Pauline from Brooklyn Mama’s did her hair and makeup. We always love working with Pauline and watching how she highlights the bride’s best features. We will say it a million times – it is worth every cent to to hire a makeup artist who knows how to apply makeup for photography and how to expertly apply it to each client in a way that is flattering and natural. We’ve never had a client whose regretted hiring a talented makeup artist, but brides do regret when they hire makeup artist who doesn’t have the skills to apply makeup in a way that appears natural in photos and also highlights their best features.

As Kenza was getting ready, Mehdi got ready with some friends at one of his friends houses. Both Mehdi and Kenza were so calm and relaxed on their wedding day and we think this owes to careful planning and lots of help from family members. And probably also part of their personalities as well!

As the sun began to set guests began arriving at the wedding. There was a traditional band that welcomed the guests. Inside local band Naji Soul played a mix of jazz and contemporary music throughout the evening. There was also a DJ and the band played at different points during the wedding as well. We love this mix of music, as there was really something for each guest to enjoy.

It almost goes without saying that there was lots of dancing the whole evening! This started as soon as Mehdi made his entrance at the wedding. Later on, Kenza made her entrance in the Amaria. Mehdi and Kenza purposefully planned their evening so as to maximize time spent with guests and enjoying their wedding day. This meant that Kenza made just three dress changes, which is really an ideal number if you want to be sure to have time on the dance floor and with your guests.

Their guests were from all over and as many of them knew each other, it really added to the celebratory feel. In lieu of guests signing a guest book, they signed within in large frame. We love this idea (ok, we’re sort of bias since we did the same idea for our wedding) and it will be a beautiful memory to hang in their home!

They also made an entrance in the doura and for their final entrance Kenza wore a white takchita. Before cutting their wedding cake, they did an exchange of wedding rings, which is a really special touch to include.

All in all, it was a really fun night of celebrating the life that these two are beginning together as a married couple and we felt so honored to be able to capture it!

Sean & Sarah’s Wedding at Tikida Golf Palace

Wedding dress photo at Agadir Wedding

In October, we had the pleasure of doing the wedding photography and video for a wedding at Tikida Golf Palace in Agadir.

The Tikida Golf Palace in Agadir is a beautiful wedding venue and a photographer’s dream when it comes to photography locations.

The bride and groom, Sean and Sarah traveled from their home in London to have their wedding celebration in Agadir. Sean spent much of his life in Hong Kong, but has lived all over the world. Sarah is from Morocco, but grew up in France, which is where she and Sean met a few years ago. With so many places they’ve called home, they had friends and family travel in from all over to celebrate with them! A week before their wedding in Agadir, they held a small ceremony in London where they were officially married.

Pauline at Brooklyn Mama’s did Sarah’s hair and makeup and she looked stunning! We loved Sean’s expression when he first saw Sarah in her wedding gown! Before the wedding started, we were able to do private photoshoot with Sarah and Sean, followed by some family photos. We love when clients plan for these photos before their wedding so we can get some beautiful photos before it gets dark.

The wedding started with a cocktail hour around the pool. It was a great opportunity for guests to mingle and enjoy the beautiful evening. After the sunset, Sarah changed into a traditional takchita and she and Sean made their entrances in an amaria and mida.

Sarah then changed into another takchita for the meal, which included tajine and seafood pastilla. Following the meal there was dancing on Tikida’s outdoor terrace. There was a mix of traditional Moroccan music and popular international songs.

We love how Sarah and Sean created a wedding that included many of the Moroccan traditions but also mixed with some western style traditions. The wedding felt relaxed and intimate, guests from outside of Morocco were able to enjoy and experience many Moroccan wedding traditions. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Sean and Sarah and capturing their Agadir wedding!

Xavier & Diana’s Wedding at Surf Maroc’s Amouage

Destination wedding at Surf Maroc's Amouage by Paragon Expressions

Morocco is a great place for a destination wedding and there are so many beautiful places to have it.

When Xavier and Diana happened upon Surf Maroc’s boutique oceanfront hotel, Amouge, they knew it was the perfect location for their intimate, destination wedding.

Xavier and Diana met five years ago through work and a few years later Xavier proposed to Diana on a seaplane! They live in France and run their own media business together. For their wedding celebration, they invited 40 of their closest friends and family.

Amouge by Surf Maroc has a beautiful backdrop for intimate ceremonies and as photographers, we were thrilled with the beautiful soft lighting in the space. One of Xavier and Diana’s close friends MC’d the ceremony and different family members, friends, Xavier’s son Sasha, and the couple share throughout the ceremony and then exchanged rings.

There was lots of laughter and a few happy tears, and it was evident how excited everyone was for Xavier and Diana.

Following the ceremony there were cocktails out on the beach as the sun set. Xavier and Diana’s wedding reflected their own laidback nature and desire for a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. After the cocktails, guests gathered on the terrace for dinner, which consisted of traditional Moroccan favorites – tajine, couscous, and Moroccan salad, all catered by Surf Maroc.

The rest of the evening consisted of a slideshow presentation and video, the cake cutting, toasts, and the evening ended with dancing under the moonlight.

Surf Maroc provided all of the catering and decorating for the event, and it was absolutely beautiful. If you’re looking for a turnkey wedding destination, check out Amouge.

Here are some of our favorite moments from Xavier and Diana’s special day…

Thierry & Hasnaa’s Agadir Wedding

Wedding photography of wedding in Agadir

After our time with Thierry and Hasnaa at their photoshoot, we were even more excited for their Agadir wedding!

Their wedding was held at Salle des Fetes Al Houda in Agadir. Hasnaa had her hair and makeup done by Ossama Berrada in his studio and Thierry got ready in the home of Hasnaa’s parents.

Hasnaa made her grand entrance to the wedding in a limousine and the wedding started with the traditional presentation of the bride on the amaria, followed by the presentation of the grooms gifts to the bride and the henna ceremony.

Hasnaa wore two other takchita’s and ended the evening in her white wedding gown. Thierry changed between traditional Moroccan attire and a suit. In the midst of all of the wedding activities, these two just beamed at each other the whole night.

Friends and family came for the wedding from all over Morocco and Belgium to celebrate with Thierry and Hasnaa. There was lots of dancing throughout the night, with a break for dinner, which included pastilla and roast chicken.

Throughout the evening, friends and family could take photos at a photobooth, with the option of printing the photos to take back with them.

One of the most special parts of the evening was when Thierry and Hasnaa made their final entrance for their first dance. Hasnaa’s sister is a singer and she sang a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheeran’s song “Perfect” while the couple shared their first dance.

After the first dance, a good friend of Hasnaa’s from Belguim shared a moving speech to the couple. It was the kind of moment where even the photographers are looking for tissues!

The evening ended after the cake cutting and the bouquet toss. It was a beautiful wedding and we wish Thierry and Hasnaa all happiness in their life together!

Jamal & Fatima’s Sdak & Photoshoot

Photography of Drib Sdak in Agadir

We had the privilege of taking some of the first shots of Fatima and Jamal, just hours after they signed their marriage contract and officially became husband and wife.

We did special photoshoot with them at the Jardin d’Olhao in Agadir, Morocco. A beautiful setting that is even more magical during golden hour (the last hour before sunset). Jamal and Fatima made our job easy, as they just exude that newlywed glow.

Following the photoshoot, was an intimate dinner celebration with their families. It was a great opportunity to capture some special family photos.

There were live musicians and a delicious traditional meal of pastilla and lamb and finished with wedding cake.

It was a joy being able to capture this special milestone in Jamal and Fatima’s relationship and we wish them all the best in this new season!

Mohamed & Assia’s Garden Wedding in Agadir

Photography of traditional Moroccan wedding in Agadir

Since our first meeting with Assia, we had been looking forward to her wedding! Our excitement only increased after meeting her soon-to-be husband, Mohamed. These two are one of the most gracious, sweet couples you’ll meet and we have really enjoyed getting to know them. Mohamed and Assia met during one of Mohamed’s trips down to Agadir from France. It didn’t take long for them to know they had met “the one!”

Their wedding took place in outside of Agadir in the beautiful garden of a villa. Some of our favorite photos of Mohamed are the ones we got of him as he prepared to go see Assia – there is nothing like a grooms anticipation to see his bride!

Every wedding has its unique touches and “firsts”. Mohamed and his family decorated their cars and then went to Assia’s family’s home where they excitedly waited outside for Assia to make her entrance. Assia wore a gorgeous white wedding gown, which was a present from one of Mohamed’s sisters. This was one of our favorite moments, as Assia’s father presented her to Mohamed outside of her family home and the couple had their “first look”.

Mohamed and Assia planned their day so that we were able to get some private photos of the two of them before the wedding began, including some beautiful photos in an orchard. These are some of our favorite photos from the evening, and cannot recommend enough to our future bride and grooms to have some private photos of just the two of them before the wedding!

The wedding celebration was beautiful, with lights strung throughout the garden as guests mingled and chatted around tables. There was dancing, heaping plates of pastilla and tajine and much celebrating.

Assia wore three kaftans, including the traditional Amazigh outfit, and a white wedding gown.

Family and friends celebrated with the happy couple until the early morning hours. We are so thrilled for Mohamed and Assia as they begin their new life together!

* As per our clients request, we are not publishing any photos of their faces.

Dan & Vanessa – A Beach Wedding In Agadir, Morocco

Being a wedding photographer in Morocco is such a privilege and it’s always an honor to capture a couple’s special day.

A native of Casablanca, Dan met Vanessa through work there and the two soon became inseperable! So much so that we discovered their branded name, Danessa.

Dan and Vanessa worked with Annabelle Corti from Comme Une Histoire to plan their special day.

Pauline from Brooklyn Mama’s did Vanessa’s hair and makeup as well as the bridesmaids. She did an incredible job! We can never stress enough with clients what a difference it makes to have a great makeup artist and hair stylist on their wedding day.

Dan and Vanessa’s ceremony was an intimate and joyful affair, and we love how they blended their own traditions while also adding a few unique touches. September is a beautiful month for weddings in Agadir and it’s stunning coastline makes for a perfect ceremony backdrop. It’s hard to beat the natural beauty that a beach wedding provides.

Following the ceremony their reception was held at the beautiful Paradise Plage. The reception included some traditional Moroccan touches and some great dancing.
