Mehdi & Kenza’s Wedding

Wedding photography at villa in Agadir

We were super honored when Mehdi and Kenza contacted us about photographing their wedding. We first met these two at Crossfit Agadir and were thrilled when we heard they were getting married.

These two are such a great match for each other and we love they made their wedding day so uniquely theirs. The wedding was held at Kenza’s family’s home in Agadir. Between the inside of the home and their beautiful garden there was enough space for all of the guests while still keeping an intimate feel. It created a vibe that felt very personal and made it easy for guests to mingle with one another.

Kenza got ready at her home with other female family members. Pauline from Brooklyn Mama’s did her hair and makeup. We always love working with Pauline and watching how she highlights the bride’s best features. We will say it a million times – it is worth every cent to to hire a makeup artist who knows how to apply makeup for photography and how to expertly apply it to each client in a way that is flattering and natural. We’ve never had a client whose regretted hiring a talented makeup artist, but brides do regret when they hire makeup artist who doesn’t have the skills to apply makeup in a way that appears natural in photos and also highlights their best features.

As Kenza was getting ready, Mehdi got ready with some friends at one of his friends houses. Both Mehdi and Kenza were so calm and relaxed on their wedding day and we think this owes to careful planning and lots of help from family members. And probably also part of their personalities as well!

As the sun began to set guests began arriving at the wedding. There was a traditional band that welcomed the guests. Inside local band Naji Soul played a mix of jazz and contemporary music throughout the evening. There was also a DJ and the band played at different points during the wedding as well. We love this mix of music, as there was really something for each guest to enjoy.

It almost goes without saying that there was lots of dancing the whole evening! This started as soon as Mehdi made his entrance at the wedding. Later on, Kenza made her entrance in the Amaria. Mehdi and Kenza purposefully planned their evening so as to maximize time spent with guests and enjoying their wedding day. This meant that Kenza made just three dress changes, which is really an ideal number if you want to be sure to have time on the dance floor and with your guests.

Their guests were from all over and as many of them knew each other, it really added to the celebratory feel. In lieu of guests signing a guest book, they signed within in large frame. We love this idea (ok, we’re sort of bias since we did the same idea for our wedding) and it will be a beautiful memory to hang in their home!

They also made an entrance in the doura and for their final entrance Kenza wore a white takchita. Before cutting their wedding cake, they did an exchange of wedding rings, which is a really special touch to include.

All in all, it was a really fun night of celebrating the life that these two are beginning together as a married couple and we felt so honored to be able to capture it!

*As per client’s request we are only posting a select few photos which do not show faces.

Kevin & Kamille’s Destination Wedding in Marrakech

Beautiful Destination Wedding photography in marrakech.

Destination Wedding in Marrakech – Love has a way of bringing people together from all over the world. Nine years ago, Kevin was living in the US and Kamille was in the Philippines. They struck up a friendship over the internet and gradually that friendship developed into something more. Fast forward to a few years later when they both moved to Japan for work and finally put an end to their long distance relationship.

Their wedding took place on March 2nd, which was also their one year anniversary of their civil anniversary and nine year anniversary of when they first started dating! Marrakech is a beautiful location for a destination wedding and Kamille’s parents were able to travel in from the Philippines to celebrate with them.

The morning was spent at riad getting ready. Getting ready photos are always a favorite as there is so much anticipation and emotion as couples get ready.

Kevin and Kamille were married at Eglise Des Martyrs De Marrakech. It was an incredibly meaningful ceremony. Kevin’s first look at Kamille as she walked down the aisle was just perfect and we loved how Kevin and Kamille took some time during the ceremony to say a few words of their own to each other. During the ceremony the priest serenaded the bride and groom with a love song, which was a first and such a special touch to the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, we took the newlyweds to the beautiful Agafay desert. Kamille had shared how they wanted photos in a wilderness sort of location as a symbolic reminder that all they need in life is each other. It was a perfect evening, and the snow capped Atlas Mountains were even visible in the background!

We had so much fun with Kevin and Kamille and love how well they compliment each other. It was an incredibly special and intimate day and we wish them all happiness in their future together – and hope that they come back to Morocco again soon!

Thierry & Hasnaa’s Agadir Wedding

Wedding photography of wedding in Agadir

After our time with Thierry and Hasnaa at their photoshoot, we were even more excited for their Agadir wedding!

Their wedding was held at Salle des Fetes Al Houda in Agadir. Hasnaa had her hair and makeup done by Ossama Berrada in his studio and Thierry got ready in the home of Hasnaa’s parents.

Hasnaa made her grand entrance to the wedding in a limousine and the wedding started with the traditional presentation of the bride on the amaria, followed by the presentation of the grooms gifts to the bride and the henna ceremony.

Hasnaa wore two other takchita’s and ended the evening in her white wedding gown. Thierry changed between traditional Moroccan attire and a suit. In the midst of all of the wedding activities, these two just beamed at each other the whole night.

Friends and family came for the wedding from all over Morocco and Belgium to celebrate with Thierry and Hasnaa. There was lots of dancing throughout the night, with a break for dinner, which included pastilla and roast chicken.

Throughout the evening, friends and family could take photos at a photobooth, with the option of printing the photos to take back with them.

One of the most special parts of the evening was when Thierry and Hasnaa made their final entrance for their first dance. Hasnaa’s sister is a singer and she sang a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheeran’s song “Perfect” while the couple shared their first dance.

After the first dance, a good friend of Hasnaa’s from Belguim shared a moving speech to the couple. It was the kind of moment where even the photographers are looking for tissues!

The evening ended after the cake cutting and the bouquet toss. It was a beautiful wedding and we wish Thierry and Hasnaa all happiness in their life together!

Thierry & Hasnaa’s Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Wedding photos on Agadir beach Morocco

It was the kind of day that we dream of for a beach photoshoot: a beautiful clear blue sky, warm weather, and a slight breeze.

A few days before their wedding, we took Hasnaa and Thierry down to our favorite secluded spot on the Agadir beach for a photoshoot.

For Hasnaa, who grew up swimming on Agadirs beaches, having a photoshoot at the beach just particularly special. Hasnaa and Thierry’s own story began far away from the sunny coastline. They met at Christmas market in Brussels, which has to be one of the most romantic times of the year to meet! Thierry is from Belgium and the couple now both live and work there.

With the wedding just a few days away, the photoshoot gave them a chance to just relax together and we loved the opportunity to get to know them better. Thierry and Hasnaa compliment each other so well and take so much delight in each other. We loved how Thierry’s face would light up when he would look at Hasnaa and we got the best smiles from Hasnaa when we told her to look at Thierry. Is there anything better than capturing this kind of love?!

These romantic photoshoots before the wedding day are probably our favorite kind of photoshoot as they’re full of all of the excitement and anticipation for the wedding day.

Ehab and Israa – Destination Wedding Photoshoot in Agadir

Honeymoon photoshoot in Morocco

A dream destination wedding photoshoot in Agadir, Morocco. The salty air, the crashing waves, the golden light, there’s a reason that the beach at sunset is stereotyped as a romantic location. It just is romantic. In the face of the overwhelming expanse of wild sea and the stretched out sky, there is an intimacy. And when the sun sets and the sky transforms into a moving painting, it’s a beauty that’s meant to be enjoyed with someone else.

So we were excited when Ehab and Israa contacted us about an Agadir beach photoshoot!

Ehab and Israa traveled to Morocco on their honeymoon after their wedding in Northern Sudan. These two have known each other since childhood and we loved hearing their story.

For the photoshoot, Ehab wore a suit and Israa a gorgeous white wedding gown. We love how the elegance of their outfits contrasted with the rugged beach setting. Agadir’s coastline is one of our favorite spots and it’s perfect for a private photoshoot.

Here are some of our favorite photos from our time together.

Kai & Alice’s Destination Photoshoot in Marrakech

Engagement photography at Marrakech palmeraie

There was so much to love about Kai and Alice’s destination photoshoot in Marrakech! For one, it combined two of our favorite Marrakech trademarks—the Palmeraie and the medina. Secondly, their photoshoot felt like time with friends. Thirdly, well, just look at the photos! This adventurous couple is up for anything – including an early morning photoshoot with some feisty camels.

These two met in university and after five years of dating, they will be tying the knot in February. They will also have celebrations in their hometowns in China. After hearing from friends about the magic of Morocco, they decided to take a break from wedding planning and holiday in Morocco.

We loved Alice’s idea to juxtapose their wedding-themed outfits with the desert like vibe of the Marrakech Palmerie. We were even more thrilled that Alice brought along a veil to complete the look.

The Palmerie in the early morning is positively magical. Kai and Alice are completely smitten and needed no encouragement from us to cuddle. As the sun began to rise, we added a camel to complete the desert look. As we were about to leave the shoot we discovered that Alice’s ring had fallen off her finger at one point during the shoot. This led to a beautiful, spontaneous moment. After a few minutes of searching, Richard found the ring and secretly gave it to Kai. Kai then surprised Alice by proposing to her all over again. You just can’t plan these intimate moments!

Alice and Kai made an outfit change into traditional Moroccan attire and we headed into the medina. Alice had henna done the day before to complete the look. Even in Marrakech, Sunday mornings are pretty lazy and we loved having the tiny empty streets to ourselves. The Marrakech medina is full of unique spots for photos, from intricate doors to colorful rugs to quintessential Moroccan red walls.

We wish these two all the best for their upcoming wedding in New York!
