Yassine & Kira’s Wedding in Agadir

Photography of traditional Moroccan wedding

We first met Yassine and Kira over a year ago when they stopped by our studio to discuss photography for their wedding. What first struck us about them was their warmth and their massive grins as they shared how they met through a language school where Kira was taking Arabic classes and Yassine was teaching at.

Because Kira is from the US and Yassine is from Agadir, much of their relationship has been long distance. But Kira has managed longer stays in Morocco and the couple will be living in the US together. Having done long distance in our own relationship, we can certainly relate to their story! When we met them they were already legally married but had not yet held their wedding celebration.

Fast forward a year later, and it was the day of their wedding celebration in Agadir. The wedding was held at Salle des Afrah Souss. Kira and Yassine put so much work into all of the details of their wedding and in making it a fun celebration for all of their local and foreign guests. Kira had many friends and family who traveled out from the US, Germany, France, Greece, and Egypt to celebrate with the couple.

Ossama Berrada did Kira’s hair and makeup at his salon in Agadir. She looked absolutely stunning! As Kira finished getting ready, Yassine greeted guests as they arrived at the venue.

This was a wedding with lots of dancing – which we loved! Then again, how could guests NOT dance given that the evening was filled with a great variety of music and a number of live bands. Our personal favorite was a Gnawa fusion group led by Mehdi Qamoum. It was the first time we heard this band (or any band like them) and they brought incredible energy to the room! Yassine and Kira surprised their guests with a famous Amazigh band, Oudaden. This was a huge hit for the guests! During this time Kira wore her traditional Amazigh outfit and Yassine’s mother and sisters changed into Amazigh outfits as well. They also had Simohamed Bourwayhe for the Issawa music.

Kira wore three traditional Moroccan takchitas, the traditional Amazigh outfit (one of my personal favorites!), and a gorgeous white wedding gown. Her negafa was Kramissa, who always does such a stunning job with brides while being so kind and professional. The negafa is with the bride so much on her wedding day that it’s really important to choose one who you feel comfortable with.

Following a traditional Moroccan dinner, there was a time for speeches. Kira’s father, Yassine’s best friend, Kira’s best friend, and Kira and Yassine all gave speeches. This was one of our favorite moments during the wedding as each speech was so meaningful and all testified to the love that Kira and Yassine share for one another as well as just the caliber of people that they are.

Towards the end of the evening, Kira entered in her white gown escorted by her father to the same song that her mother walked down the aisle to 38 years earlier. Yassine and Kira’s first dance was sung by Kira’s god brother. Talk about two emotional moments back to back! After the cake cutting, there was more dancing to some of Kira’s favorite songs!

It was a beautiful evening and it was such a privilege for us to capture!

Moussa & Hayley’s Sidi Ifni Wedding

Photography of wedding in Sidi Ifni

We loved doing the wedding photography and video for a traditional Moroccan wedding in Sidi Ifni.

Moussa and Hayley’s wedding took place on a gorgeous September day on Sidi Ifni’s beautiful coastline. These two met on the Canary Islands, where they are also living. Moussa is from Morocco, the wedding was at his home in Sidi Ifni, and Hayley is from Scotland.

We love how they incorporated lots of elements from their home cultures and made their wedding uniquely theirs. Hayley’s mother and close friends traveled to Morocco to celebrate along Moussa’s family and friends. There was much dancing and laughter leading up to wedding and it carried on throughout the night.

Hayley wore four traditional takchitas and a white wedding gown. Hayley made her final entrance in her white wedding gown with her mother accompanying her to a bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace. There were many happy tears as Hayley and Moussa exchanged rings and then had their first dance together.

The morning after Moussa and Hayley’s Sidi Ifni wedding, we did a romantic photoshoot with them on Legzira beach. It was a beautiful morning and we loved getting some photos of just the two of them.

For the beach photoshoot, Hayley wore her white wedding gown and Moussa wore his suite. Legzira’s remaining arch is the perfect backdrop for photos and we especially love the silhouette shots of them under the arch.

We shifted gears from romantic shots to some shots that really reflect Moussa and Hayley’s adventurous side as they opted to take a camel ride down the beach!

We had so much fun with Moussa and Hayley and it is so clear how well they compliment each other! We wish them all happiness in their marriage!

It was an incredibly special day and honor for us to do the wedding photography and video for this Sidi Ifni wedding.

Mujeer & Sana Wedding in Marrakech

Beautiful Moroccan Wedding Photography in Marrakech

We looked forward to photographing and videoing Mujeer and Sana’s Marrakech wedding for a long time! And it exceeded expectations.

Sana and Mujeer are an incredibly sweet, sincere and warm couple. They met while working in Dubai and for Mujeer, it was love at first sight. After some pursuit by Mujeer, Sana also fell in love. Despite their different backgrounds, Sana is Moroccan and Mujeer is Indian, these two are such a perfect fit and the deep love and respect that they have for each other is so evident.

The entire wedding day Mujeer was just beaming whenever he looked at his bride and Sana absolutely glowed.

Wedding days usually have one or two surprises. This sunny Marrakech Saturday turned into a cold and rainy day a few hours before the wedding. However, they say that rain is lucky for a wedding day! And the rain certainly didn’t put a damper on the celebrations.

Mujeer and Sana’s wedding was held at the Four Seasons Resort in Marrakech. Guests traveled in from India, Dubai, Europe and the US to celebrate with Mujeer and Sana, along with family and friends from all over Morocco.

The Four Seasons Resort has some beautiful locations for photos, even when it’s raining. Before the guests arrived, we did a private session with Mujeer and Sana. Sana wore a beautiful traditional Indian gown and later a kaftan for these photos.

For their wedding, they chose many of the Moroccan traditions like the amaria, presentation of gifts from the groom, the negafas and of course, dresses from different regions of Morocco. They had a live band and later on a DJ. There was traditional Moroccan music, Indian music, and international favorites. Guests burned off all of the delicious food with lots of dancing.

The celebration ended close to dawn with the cutting of the cake. It was an honor to capture Sana and Mujeers special and we wish them all happiness in their life together!
